Friends of the Leichnitz Family

Name variations: Lechnitz, Leichnetz, Leichner, Likeness, Leichmitz, Lechmyc, Lejchmitz, Lejchmic
The Leichnitz familiy is small but fine, and quite exclusive. I estimate that today there are about 400 living persons who bear or bore our family name. My father, Werner Erich Günther Leichnitz (1909-1989) had spent decades of years to research our family history in diligent carefulness, and published his knowledge in the status of 1963 (Deutsches Geschlechterbuch, Vol. 133 Westpreussen 3“, edited in 1964 by Verlag C.A. Starke, Limburg an der Lahn, Germany). As I am now retired myself, I decided to continue his work. Hence I direct my efforts, on one side to fill gaps in the relationship records of former generations, on the other side to update family data in the younger generations living today, and to integrate them into our family community. In these efforts, I closely cooperate with our cousin Earl Eric Schultz in Canada, who himself performed intensive work for our family research, over many years. We may say that presently we have the worldwide largest database about the Leichnitz family. From this, also other members of our community may take profit. We invite all of you to contact us. By the way, we do hope that everyone will also support us in our research activities. If such feedbacks will be encouraging, we may consider to arrange a family meeting to become more familiar among one another and to intensify our family connections.
